The History and Philosophy of MontVue Capital Management
In our lifetime, the investment industry has changed dramatically. Gone are the days when available investment options were whatever the corner broker was selling. Investment vehicles have become less expensive, more efficient, and easier to trade than ever before. This evolution has fit perfectly into our practice of providing clients with the best investment options available.
When MontVue was founded over fifteen years ago, our goal was twofold:
1) provide tailored investment management within a highly ethical business environment, and
2) utilize intelligent, well-researched, and thoroughly vetted portfolio management techniques.
Today, we continue to carry out this mission. We stay abreast of the latest changes in the investment industry but we do not let the latest fads dictate our decisions. We are thorough in our research and deliberate in our investing approach. Most importantly, every decision we make is first viewed from the client’s vantage point. If it’s not right for our clients we simply won’t do it.

Bill Russell passed away in November, 2015. He was instrumental in framing the client service concept that the firm has adopted – modeled after the local trust department. Bill graduated from Virginia Tech in 1965, where he received a degree in business administration. He previously served as Senior Vice President at BB&T and President of Main Street Trust Company.
Bill will forever have a place in our hearts. At MontVue, he was both a friend and a mentor. His memory lives on through the lessons that he taught us.
